Mettere in relazione le differenze per ottenere un'informazione è, in estrema sintesi, il modello di interazione della mente con la realtà esterna, proposto da Gregory Bateson nel suo libro Mente e Natura (Mind and Nature), scritto nel 1979.
Circa 20 anni dopo, Mark Buchanan, nel suo saggio Nexus, faceva il punto della situazione sui modi in cui le persone e gli eventi si relazionano fra loro, illustrando i modelli di interconnessione che la natura, le strutture sociali umane e le infrastrutture tecnologiche perseguono, incredibilmente, allo stesso identico modo nel loro processo di auto-organizzazione.
Partendo da queste idee, abbiamo strutturato Costellazione di me, modulandola interamente sui concetti di differenza e relazione. Abbiamo così invitato 80 persone che sono in relazione con noi ad indicare il saggio o il romanzo che maggiormente ha ispirato la loro vita.
A questi libri abbiamo aggiunto quelli a cui siamo più legati, e di ognuno abbiamo trascritto un capitolo sulle pareti della galleria per comporre una grande rete relazionale, dove ogni linea rappresenta un libro, e tutte insieme vanno a comporre la grande costellazione dei nostri amici, ognuno diverso nella sua individualità, ma tutti in relazione fra loro, non fosse altro che per il loro legame comune con Bianco-Valente.

Relating differences in order to obtain information is, in brief, the interaction model between mind and external reality proposed by Gregory Bateson in his book Mind and Nature, written in 1979.
About 20 years later, Mark Buchanan, in his essay Nexus, illustrated the ways in which people and events relate to each others, explaining the patterns of interconnection that nature, human social structures and technological infrastructures pursue, incredibly, exactly at the same way, in their process of self-organization.
By starting from these ideas, we have created the installation Costellazione di me (Constellation of me), basing it entirely on the concepts of difference and relation. We have invited 80 people having a connection to us asking them to indicate the essay or the novel which most inspired their lives.
In addition to these books we added the ones which most influenced us and for each of them we transcribed a chapter on the gallery walls in order to form a large network of relationships, where each line represented a book, and all together composed a constellation of our friends, everyone different in his/her individuality, but all inter-related, at least for their common link with Bianco-Valente.
