Who You Belong To is a public art intervention collectively designed by Bianco-Valente together with a group of young artists. The workshop, organized by Ramdom, was held in 2021 in Castrignano de' Greci, in the spaces of Kora, center of contemporary art.
The artists were commissioned to design a new appearance for the city's school complex. In the research phase, Bianco-Valente and the young artists drew inspiration from the most significant element of the place: the Wells Park, a green area of the town where ancient artesian wells are distributed, dug by local families to obtain water during the dry periods that periodically affect the territory. The strong symbolic value of the wells highlights the importance of water for this land.
To evoke the centuries-old history of the wells and the families who served them for generations, the working group imagined a series of blue concentric circles that propagate and interweave on the school building. The expansion of each circle represents the passage of knowledge between generations, reflects the social role of the school, and establishes a connection between the history and future of the community.
Working group: Bianco-Valente, Grazia Amelia Bellitta, Paolo Bini, Alice Caracciolo, Alice Di Nanna, Elena Eugeni, Sara Fiorentino, Rebecca Fuso, Nicola Guastamacchia, Vincenzo Luchena, Mariantonietta Clotilde Palasciano, Rossana Viola, Apo Yaghmourian.
