Breathless
Con questa installazione abbiamo voluto indagare le dinamiche corticali che presiedono all’organizzazione del nostro pensiero e alla sua verbalizzazione secondo le normali regole grammaticali.

Abbiamo voluto stabilire un ponte, un'analogia, fra come queste dinamiche si svolgono nel nostro cervello e come potrebbe invece un microprocessore riuscire a fare la stessa cosa.

Breathless è un computer assemblato sul pavimento in maniera spoglia ed essenziale che legge dalla sua memoria alcune nostre poesie. Non viene riprodotto un suono registrato, ma la voce "propria" del microprocessore che sintetizza le parole al momento.

Paradossalmente le poesie hanno una forte componente umana e la macchina le legge con una voce mal modulata, a tratti incerta, ma molto calda e profonda.
Ciò che più colpisce e inquieta è la sensazione di primordialità che questa "soffice voce meccanica" riesce ad evocare.



Breathless
With this installation we tried to investigate the cortical dynamism that heads the organization of our thoughts and feelings, according to grammar rules, for their verbalization.

We tried to set a bridge, an analogy, between the way in which these processes are carried out by our brain and how the same dynamism could take place into a microprocessor.

Breathless is a computer assembled on the floor in its essential form that reads some our poems that we put in its memory. It's not a recorded sound reproduced from time to time, but the voice of the microprocessor that synthesizes words in real time.

Paradoxally, poems have a strong human component and the machine reads them with its voice, not well modulated, uncertain, but very warm and deep.
What impress and disturb more, is the sensation of primordiality that this "soft mechanical voice" is able to evoke.
